Abstract:Coking wastewater is known as its complex composition and difficult degradation of organic compound. With the implementation of Pollutant Emission Standards in Coking Chemical Industry (GB 16171—2012), the more stringent emission standards for coking wastewater have brought challenges to the coking enterprises. The effluent from the original coking wastewater treatment system can only meet the old standard. According to the requirements of the new standard, the existing coking wastewater treatment system has been optimized to get the target. The bioaugmentation is applied to the additional anaerobic pool by adding the dominant bacteria, which decreases the content of TN in biologically treated effluent from 40 to 10 mg/L. And the ozone oxidation technique is applied to the advanced treatment, which reduces the COD to 30 mg/L. Significant effects have been achieved by optimizing the coking wastewater treatment system, and the anticipated target is reached. It provides a certain reference for the same type of coking wastewater treatment plant in China.
