Abstract:At present, lump coals are adapted as the main fuels instead of coke to produce hot metal in COREX melter gasifier. The reaction behaviors of lump coals in the COREX process has a significant influence on the stable smooth operation and the quality of hot metal.The mass loss rate, loss mass and impact factors of one of lump coals used in COREX process (Datong coal), were investigated by using the non isothermal thermogravimetry.Besides, the weight lose during the whole pyrolysis process was analyzed, and the influence of different heating rates on coal pyrolysis were discussed.In addition, considering the characteristics in different pyrolysis stages, the stepwise attempt method was adopted to set up a dynamics theory model, furthermore the corresponding kinetic parameters were obtained.This is helpful to analyze the reaction behaviors of lump coals and it can also provide theoretical bases for the reasonable use of lump coal and PCI (pulverized coal injection) in COREX process.
