According to the serious circulation and enrichment of alkali metals in Baotou Steel, which influenced the smooth operation of BF and the quality of pig iron, the equilibrium distribution of alkali metals in No.6 BF of Baotou Steel was calculated by measuring the alkali metals content in the raw fuel and output of No.6 BF, and combining with the actual production data of BF during sampling period. The results showed that the alkali load in No.6 BF of Baotou Steel was 4.888 kg/t, of which 69.29% alkali metals were brought in by the sinter. Among the expenditure items, most of the alkali metals were taken away by slag, accounting for 83.41% of the total expenditure. In order to reduce the damage caused by alkali metal to BF production, the measures to reduce the harm of alkali metals in combination with the actual situation of No.6 blast furnace of Baotou Steel were put forward.
