Owing to their excellent overall performance, copper matrix composites have become one of the most popular metal matrix composites. In particular, with increasing the demand for materials in hightech fields, the research and application of highperformance copper matrix composites are becoming more and more important. The classification of copper matrix composites and the common preparation methods were briefly introduced. At the same time, the latest research progress at home and abroad was reviewed from the common reinforcement body such as particles, whiskers and fibers. Finally, the problems of copper matrix composites in interface combination and preparation cost, etc. were summarized, and developing direction also prospected.
