Production status analysis of wire rod for high strength bridge cable

Abstract:In the past five years, the tensile strength of zinc- coated wire for bridge cable has been greatly improved from 1 770, 1 860, 1 960 MPa to the current level of 2 000 MPa and above. Torsion indicators have a disruptive change from the previous several turns to the current ten or twenty turns. The reason is that on the one hand, the drawing and zinc- coated process are optimized. On the other hand, the quality of the wire rod for zinc- coated has been improved, which is the main aspect. The production status of wire rod for zinc- coated steel wire of high strength bridge cable at home and abroad was discussed. From the aspects of composition design, process route, wire rod toughened treatment and microstructure characteristics, the characteristics and development trends of different domestic and international production processes were discussed, which provided theoretical support for the production of wire rod for zinc- coated steel wire of high strength bridge cable in China.
