Abstract:In the rolling process of IF steel in Shougang Jingtang Company, there were up-warp defects caused by the hot rolling process. After a systematic analysis, it was believed that the slab heating temperature was uneven, the slab tail temperature decreased quickly in the rolling process and the rolling mill cooling water sealing effect was poor, which resulted in the defects. The heating technology applied in the Shougang Jingtang hot rolling plant to eliminate the up-warp defect in IF steel was introduced. By adjusting the burner opening to optimize the furnace temperature field, the temperature difference between the slab head and tail and the slab temperature difference in the width direction were controlled in accordance with the requirements of the temperature difference in the rolling process. The result of black box experiment proved that the quality of slab heating reached the target. Eventually, the up-warp defect caused by the hot rolling process was eliminated.
