Abstract:Corresponding to the current situation of hysteretic nature and poor pertinency of blast furnace longevity management, combined with the process design of blast furnace hearth, heat transfer theory and operation of blast furnace process, a set of hearth longevity intelligent management system was developed. In addition to calculation function of carbon brick erosion curve by conventional hearth erosion model, it had another 4 core functions including the monitoring for the iron freeze layer online, the judgment for the hearth air gap, the diagnosis of the iron freeze layer, and the corresponding improvement suggestions. All monitoring, calculation, diagnosis and suggestions were online in the system. Its key purpose was not to calculate the erosion curve, but to prevent the occurrence of hearth erosion, which could give excellent help to blast furnace longevity management, and play an important role in extending life of a blast furnace.
