Cause analysis and control measures on hot- dip galvanizing slag brought in cold- milling of Hansteel

Abstract:In galvanization production, the hot- dip galvanizing slag was unavoidable, which not only increased the consumption of zinc, but also affected the quality of products. Through analyzing the growth mechanism and formation causes, the measures and suggestions to reduce zinc slag were proposed combined with the practic in Handan Steel. As follows, in zinc bath, the aluminum content of zinc liquid was controlled in the range of 0.2% to 0.3%, the zinc liquid temperature ranged from 460 to 466℃. The strip temperature maintained at 440 to 480℃, and the production line speed was controlled in 70 to 100m/min. By reasonably optimizing the galvanization technology, the amount of zinc slag, the consume of the material and the production cost were reduced, which can provide a practical guiding significance for effectively improving the product quality and a strong operability.
