Since the implementation of the new standard, in order to explore the best production process of hot rolled ribbed bars, the steel bars produced by major steel enterprises in different processes in Guangdong Province were studied. The analysis showed that using water cooling process, the strength of the steel bar samples was high, the toughness was insufficient, the metallographic structure was unqualified, and some samples were reversely bent and the seismic performance was unqualified, which indicated that the process had seriously failed to meet the new standard. The hot rolling process with the addition of chromium, molybdenum resulted in a large deviation of tensile strength and an unqualified reverse bending performance, which indicated that the process was not easy to control and the product quality was unstable. Using the conventional hot rolling process, the yield strength of the sample was low, only 12 MPa higher than the limit of the standard, which indicated that the strength was not enough. Using the vanadiumnitrogen alloying hot rolling process, the test indexes of the sample were all good. When the mass fraction of vanadium was 0.33%0.36%, and the mass fraction of the nitrogen was 0.022%0.025%, the comprehensive quality of the product was the best.
