Abstract: A coupled friction and deformation machine was designed and manufactured for the friction and wear problem of austenitic stainless steel forming process. The relationship between the sliding speeds of steel and coefficient of friction was analyzed. Abrasive surface was analyzed and the stress distribution during friction and wear process was calculated by LSDYNA simulation. The result shows the increased sliding speed of strip induced the shear stress increasing. The amount of transformed martensite has directly proportional relationship with the sliding speed of strip, and it caused the martensite structure abrasive wear in the contact surface. The surface abrasive phenomenon aggravated, but the coefficient of friction decreased fluctuantly.
