Abstract:The blast furnace (BF) burden charge of 2 680 m3 BF was "75% high basicity sinter +7% abroad acid pellets +18% lump ores". To reduce the cost of BF process, a series of tests for metallurgical properties were carried out among a few non-mainstream ores and mainstream ores such as P ores and N ores. The result indicated that the R ores were more compact than P ores and N ores which led better thermal resistance performance and maintained a certain degree of reduction performance. The droplet property test indicated that the soft zone could be decreased about 25 ℃ with R ores and the high melting point phases were easily formed in slag system due to higher Al2O3 content in R ores which led to the decrease of the slag fluidity, as the result, the column permeability increased about 4.6 kPa. In actual BF production, the BF process could be stable and smooth with substantial economic benefits after the addition of R ores in 2 680 m3 blast furnace.
