Abstract:Clay gun was the special equipment of blast furnace, of which the main function was to block the iron outlet under the condition of no blowing-down, thus the blast furnace could enter the next cycle quickly. The frequent failure of control connecting rod had a great negative effect on the normal production of the blast furnace. The high failure rate of the control connecting rod of four blast furnaces in Chengde Branch of Hebei Iron and Steel Company, restricting the long-term stable operation of blast furnace, was analyzed. According to the actual situation in the field, a new type of clay gun control connecting rod support was made, of which the structure was simple and the cost was low. The service life of the control connecting rod and joint bearing of blast furnace clay gun was prolonged, and the purpose of low-cost operation was achieved as well, achieving an annual efficiency of 2.691 6 million yuan for Chengde Branch of Hebei Iron and Steel Company.
