Abstract:With the increasing progress of rare earth mineral processing technology advances, the grade of Bayan Obo rare earth concentrate is increased to more than 65%, and it can be used in large-scale production and application. By means of XRD, EDS, SEM, AMICS and so on, the high-grade mixed rare earth concentrate was systematically investigated. The research results showed that the REO grade of rare earth concentrate was 67.96%, and the light rare earth elements accounted for 98.65% of the total rare earth, which was a typical cerium-rich and low-yttrium light rare earth. The impurity elements drop remarkably, such as calcium, fluoride, phosphate. The rare earth concentrate was mainly composed of bastnaesite, monazite, apatite, and fluorite. Rare earth mainly occurred in bastnaesite and monazite, with a total mass fraction of 92.55%. The bastnaesite and monazite were associated with fluorite, iron ore, silicate, and carbonate minerals. The study on the characteristics of high-grade Bayan Obo rare earth has certain guiding significance for the efficient and comprehensive utilization of rare earth resources.
