When the regenerative heating furnace is reversing combustion, the gas remaining in the pipe between the gas reversing valve and the burner is directly discharged into the atmosphere. In order to reduce the energy consumption of the regenerative heating furnace and reduce pollution emissions, the reversing process of the regenerative heating furnace was explored. A regenerative furnace flue gas backflushing system was designed for a 160 t/h regenerative heating furnace in a steel factory in Tangshan. Through scientific timing control and safety interlocking, it was reasonably linked with the original regenerative heating furnace control program to realize the safe and reliable operation of the whole system. The application of the regenerative furnace flue gas backflushing system reduced the unit energy consumption of the furnace from 0.882 to 0.823 GJ/t, and the CO emission reduction rate reached 94.9%. At the same time, it provided a data basis for combustion control and maintenance.
