Abstract:On the basis of previous studies, the preparation technology and selection of quartz nozzle and its role in molten steel casting were summarized. According to the situation of the quartz nozzle of the factory, by measured the section size of the downstream nozzle, the influence of molten steel composition, flux and nozzle alignment on the corrosion of quartz nozzle was analyzed. The result showed that the erosion of the quartz nozzle had two forms of internal expansion and external necking, and the necking caused by slag erosion was the main form, whose average erosion speed was 15.86 mm/h. If the nozzle was not properly aligned in the use process, the thickness of the nozzle would be uneven and the normal use of the nozzle would be affected. According to the above problems, a plan was put forward to extend the service life of quartz nozzle by changing the immersion depth of quartz nozzle into steel on the premise of guaranteeing the alignment of nozzle.
