Abstract:An ash fusion point determination meter was used to determine the melting temperature of three kinds of semi- coke ash samples, whose fitting calculation was conducted by Matlab software and empirical formula and compared with the experimental values. The experiment results showed that the content of calcium oxide and iron oxide in ash was higher, and the content of silicon dioxide and aluminum oxide was lower. Therefore, the melting temperature of the semi- coke ash samples was relatively lower than that of coals, and it was 1 159, 1 154 and 1 234 ℃, respectively. The result calculated by Matlab software was much lower than that measured by experiments, while the empirical formula calculation value was almost the same with the experimental value, showing that the interaction between ash components had a great influence on the melting temperature of semi- coke ash. Thus, it was proper for the empirical formula to predict the melting temperature of semi- coke.
