Productive practice of plastic deformation control of CaO- Al2O3- SiO2 inclusions in SWRH82B hard wire steel

Abstract:In order to study the feasibility of the implementation of the plasticization of inclusions in SWRH82B hard wire steel through the control of the composition of refining slag, the refining slag and molten steel were sampled during the steelmaking process, and the composition of the refining slag, the total oxygen content of the liquid steel and the shape, size and composition of the inclusion were examined and analyzed. The result showed when the refining slag basicity was controlled at 0.8- 1.2 and the mass fraction of Al2O3 was controlled less than 10%, the CaO- Al2O3- SiO2 system inclusions were transformed into plastic inclusions. However, after RH treatment, the inclusion size became large, the Al2O3 mass fraction of inclusions decreased and the SiO2 mass fraction increased. The reasons for this phenomenon were discussed and the corresponding improvement measures were proposed.
