Abstract：Composition forecast and control in EAF steelmaking is an important part of EAF steelmaking′s intellectualization, because it directly affects the smelting time, product quality and production costs. The converter and arc furnace′s sublance control technology and offgas analysis technology in the process of steelmaking were analyzed, the selective oxidation mechanism in steelmaking and the application of intelligent algorithm in composition prediction were discussed. Due to the kinetic conditions of slow flow in the EAF bath and the unbalanced reaction, the difficulties of the composition forecast in EAF steelmaking were discussed. On the basis of the literature review at home and abroad, the influences of "EAF bottom stirring, oxygen jet and electromagnetic fluid" on the molten steel flow were discussed and an idea of combining the dynamic influence of the flow of the molten steel in the EAF bath and the selective oxidation thermodynamics of steelmaking reaction to realize an assumption of the real- time prediction of composition was proposed. It can be of guiding significance for the research on the composition forecast in EAF steelmaking.
