Abstract：With the help of finite element analysis software, the asymmetrical splitting caliber process of C160, which was the section steel for forklift mast rail, was simulated, and the stability of head warping, bending, twisting in the rolling process was studied. Based on the analysis of the section contour of strain distribution, deformation and elongation during the rolling process, the production was conducted. The results showed that in the workpiece cross section during the stable rolling process, the deformation and elongation of the lower part was greater than the upper, which caused the head warping, and the left deformation and elongation was greater than the right, which caused the bending to the right. Due to the similar diagonal distribution of the strain and elongation, the twisting of workpiece was not obvious. A method for the research on the rolling stability was provided, which had great significance for guaranteeing the smooth rolling, improving the operation rate and guiding the production.
