Exploration and practice on smelting process of 2Cr12Mo1V by hot heel and return method

Abstract:Based on the analysis and improvement of 20t electric furnace system EAF→LF→VD process route at Heavy Machinery Company of Ma’anshan Iron and Steel Group,a new smelting process of 2Cr12Mo1V by hot heel and return method was developed. In the stainless steel smelted by the new method, w[O]≤25×10-6,w[H]≤1.8×10-6,w[S]≤50×10-6,w[P]≤150×10-6,and the equivalent size of individual artifacts defects is less than 4.0mm. This process is simple,and can reduce labor intensity and energy consumption and refractory wear and tear. The product quality is stable and reliable and can bring huge economic benefits. It can realize fast and low cost production of stainless steel.
