Due to some problems of CVC(continuously variable crown) word roll on stand F2 of CSP hot strip mills in Maanshan Steel, for instance, the percentage of shifting stroke of CVC work roll is very low, and the shifting position always reaches the negative capacity, and the word rolls is worn very badly and non-uniformly, based on the statistical analysis on the distribution of shifting position on F2 stand, according to the CVC roll contour design method, new CVC roll contour has been designed for F2 stand and tested in production. The test results show: the application of new CVC roll contour increases the percentage of shifting stroke of CVC work roll on stand F2, and the wear of optimized CVC work roll is more uniform.
