Abstract:Automobile is one of main means of transportation in daily life. The quality of automobile steel is directly related to the safety of automobile and passengers. Therefore, it is very important to develop automobile steel with excellent performance. Microalloyed is one of effective methods to improve the properties of automobile steel. Niobium, a microalloying element, can refine the grain and improve the strength, toughness and hydrogen induced delayed fracture resistance of material, which is favored by researchers. In this paper, the effect of niobium on the microstructure of automobile TWIP steel is summarized, and the effect and mechanism of niobium on the mechanical properties, wear resistance and hydrogen induced delayed fracture resistance of automobile TWIP steel are reviewed. The problems existing in the research process of niobium microalloyed automobile TWIP steel are put forward, which can provide reference for the application of niobium in high strength automobile steel with low-cost and high efficiency.
