In this paper, for a T-shaped six-strand tundish with capacity of 30 ton in some steel plant, a mathematical modeling was established to study the effect of different combination of baffles and dams on the fluid flow behaviors in tundish. The results showed that, the residence time will be increased by changing the configurations and pitch angle of the holes on the baffles and installing a dam between two strand near the nerrow wall of tundish, on the same time, which also improved the fluid flow behavior and increased the flow consistency for every strand in tundish.
