Abstract:This paper introduce the application and practice to reduce nitrogen content in steelmaking in EAF, including hot metal charged, slag foaming, endpoint carbon control and application of RBT process in EAF; atmosphere control, formation of good white slag and submerged arc operation in LF; and adoption of long ceramic nozzle and argon sealing between ladle and tundish to prevent against nitrogen pickup in casting, which has obtained better effects in production.
