Analytical Solution of OneDimensional, Unsteady, Inconstant Heat Flux Slab Temperature Distribution in Reheating Furnace

Abstract:Mathematical model of slab heat conduction was built based on reasonable assumption. Applying variable separation method and variational principle, slab temperature distribution of one-dimensional, unsteady, inconstant heat flux was derived. The slab temperature distribution with heating time was quantitatively studied when the heat flux is linear and sine. The slab temperature at different slab depths was also studied. The results show that the analytical solution is right and practical. The analytical solution expression provides theoretical basis for on-line real time tracking computation of slab and reverse resolution of total heat exchange coefficient in reheating furnace.
