Abstract:The main factors such as rotation speed, angle of inclination, kiln inner diameter, inletdam influencing the mean residence time of solids are presented on the experiment equipment which was established in the laboratory. The results indicate that the residence time of solids follows normal distribution and the mean residence time of solids declines along with rotation speed, angle of inclination or kiln inner diameter increasing. However, the effect of dam height on the mean residence time is more complex. As rotation speed is lower than 25 r/min, the mean residence time increases with the increasing of dam height, while decreasing with the increasing of dam height as rotation speed is higher than 25 r/min. The product of mean residence time and mass flow rate of solids increases approximately linearly with mass flow rate per unit rotation speed at a certain angle of inclination.
