Abstract:Mold flux defect, bubble defect, inclusion defect and cold rolling scratches are the four typical linear defects on the surface of cold-rolled sheets. Due to the similarity of the macroscopic morphology for these four defects, it is difficult to accurately distinguish them by surface inspection system, which causes difficulty in the judgment, traceability and process improvement. The surface inspection results, physical morphologies and microscopic characteristics of each linear defect were compared through large numbers of sampling analysis, and the macroscopic and microscopic characteristics of every kind of linear defect were clarified. Based on this, the judgment rules and the defect library of the surface inspection system are optimized, thus the accuracy rate of defect judgment is improved from 80% to 90%.
