Abstract:Blast furnace profile has a decisive influence on burden movement. Taking the blast furnace parameters of an enterprise as the prototype, numerical simulation on the burden movement under different furnace profiles was conducted using the discrete element method, and the burden movement law and its influence on the distribution of O/C ratio and porosity were analyzed. The result showed that when the distribution conditions were the same, after the furnace body angle became smaller, the furnace capacity expanded and the burden movement speed slowed down. During the process of burden descending, the ore would gather to the fastest descending position. After the furnace body angle decreased, the ore tended to be distributed at the edge of the blast furnace. During the process of burden reduction, ore and coke were mixed, and the porosity decreased continuously. After the furnace body angle decreased, the porosity decreased slowly during the process of burden reduction.
