Variable thickness rolling technology and application for head of aluminum hot rolling strip

Abstract:The head compression injury is one of the main quality defects that affect the yield of aluminum alloy hot rolled strip. In order to effectively control the occurrence of the defect,firstly,the causes and mechanism of the defect were analyzed,and the solution of changing the roll gap of each stand in turn to roll the head of the coil in variable thickness rolling was determined. The mathematical model of variable thickness rolling process was established,which could calculate the adjustment amount and adjustment speed of the roll gap of each stand in real time,so as to increase the indirect contact surface between the head of the coil and the inner coil and reduce the head crush defect of the coil. After using this method in the production site,the bad ratio of head crush is reduced from 5% to 1%,and the maximum allowable coiling thickness of coiler can be increased.
