Abstract:In order to compare the influence of different concentrate powder on the sintering performance and the sinter quality, the hightemperature performance test of concentrate powder and a series of sinter pot tests were performed. The experiment results showed that there were significant differences between the different iron ore concentrate in microstructure and hightemperature property. Without changing the same flux structure, with the increase of the silica mass fraction in concentrate powders, the liquid phase fluidity index decreased, and the amount of the bonded phase decreased, which was not conducive to the formation of binder minerals in the mixture. When sintered with different iron ore concentrate, the microstructure of sinter had a significant difference. Increasing the SiO2 mass fraction in the iron ore concentrate resulted in the decrease of the production of calcium ferrite, the gradual increase of silicate and the increase of voids in sinter. Compared with the sintering of the low silica mass fraction in iron ore concentrate, when using the high silica of iron ore concentrate to sinter, the solid fuel consumption increased, the drum strength decreased and the particle size less than 10 mm increased significantly with the sintering of the high silica mass fraction in iron ore concentrate.
