Abstract:Sintering pot tests were applied to study the low SiO2 sintering and optimization measures, and then industrial test and application were carried out. The results showed that the drum index, yield and grain size of sinter was deteriorated when the SiO2 mass fraction in sinter decreased from 5.60% to 5.00% under the match structure of iron ores in Jingtang. Coarsening coke powder size had obvious effects on improving sinter drum index. Each basic index of sinter were improved by increasing the temperature of blending material, especially for the sinter yield. It was beneficial for reducing the fuel consumption to increase the sintering material thickness. Moreover, in industrial practice, through improving the material thickness by 30 mm, raising temperature by 5- 10 ℃, loosening the fuel particle size(<3 mm)by 2%, decreasing the use of fluxes containing MgO and optimizing ore- blending, etc, the volume fraction of SFCA was up to above 45%, which prompted the sinter yield or quality to keep stable and to improve after reducing silicon.
