Development of a hardfacing flux-cored wire contain Nb

Abstract:With the high chromium content ferrous powder as the main raw material, the flux-cored wires with different compositions were obtained by rolling in the flux-cored wire mills with the proper addition of niobium-ferric powder and graphite. The automatic welding machine was used to obtain the surfacing layers with fine friction resistance. And the structure of the surfacing layer was comprehensive analyzed, including the chemical component, the phase composition, and the microstructure and the properties of each phase. The results showed that the hardfacing had high macrohardness and excellent abrasive wear resistance.
