Abstract:The heating characteristics of high- carbon ferromanganese powders (HCFMP) and high- carbon ferrochrome powders (HCFCP) were compared in the microwave field and the factors affecting its heating temperature was analyzed. The results showed that the heating effect of HCFMP was better than that of HCFCP. The heating curves of both HCFMP and HCFCP can be divided into two stages. For HCFMP, the average heating rates of the two stages were 70.9 and 12.4℃·min-1, respectively, and for HCFCP, that were 20.0 and 8.33℃·min-1, respectively. The dielectric loss of HCFMP was bigger than HCFCP, but the magnetic loss was the opposite when the microwave field was up to 2.450GHz. The calculation of reflection loss showed that the microwave absorption of HCFMP was better.
