Abstract:The solid phase decarburization reaction kinetics of Fe- C alloy ribbon was studied. The Fe- C alloy ribbon was decarburized in the tube furnace taking Ar- H2- H2O as the decarburizing atmosphere. The Fe- C alloy ribbon was put in heating field, and heated to 1020, 1080 and 1140℃, then insulated for 0,10, 30, 50, 60, 70, 80and 90minutes to decarburize, respectively. The results showed that the diffusion of carbon to the reaction interface was the restricted link for the decarburization reaction. And with the increase of the decarburization temperature and holding time, the content of decarburization was improved, and the decarburization rate was also improved due to the increase of the reaction temperature. The results illustrated that the solid phase decarburization reaction can be approximate to first- order reaction and the apparent activation energy of decarburization reaction was 144.9kJ/mol.
