Abstract:Although composite slab fabricated by coated casting have the metallurgical combination between two materials, but additional stress will be generated at the interface if adopting inappropriate reduction during hot rolling, and the value of addition stress will have effect on the interface bonding of composite after rolling. The simulation of hot rolling process of 304 stainless steel/high boron alloyed stainless steel/304 stainless steel composite plate fabricated by coated casting was simulated by using the finite element software ABAQUS. The results of simulation show that the deformation coordination compatibility of coating layer and core layer becomes worse and the interface bonding will be destroyed when pass reduction exceeds 17%. The actual hot rolling experiments demonstrate the validity of the finite element simulation results, and it can provide useful technological parameters of hot rolling for composite plate fabricated by coated casting.
