Abstract:The danger of nitrogen in pipeline steel was introduced, and the origin, the dissolution and diffusion mechanism of nitrogen in combination of chemical composition and production technology of pipeline steel were analyzed. The different processes of nitrogen data in steel liquid has been collected and analyzed based on characteristics of converter smelting, LF refining, RH refining, continuous casting,etc. The improvement of BOF hit rate, improvement of the slag system, strengthening tapping managemnet, bottom blowing Ar control, LF micro positive pressure operation, RH vacuum treatment, and measures affecting casting pouring on nitrogen removal and control of nitrogen were systematically analyzed. Furthermore, it points out the main reason for the high nitrogen content of the continuous casting slab. It provides scientific basis for reducing and controlling of nitrogen in pipeline steel, strengthening the control of key process, and optimizing control process. A set of complete process control steel nitrogen measures was set, which ensures the nitrogen content in advanced pipeline steel being controlled below 45×10-6.
