Abstract:Since paint film of PCM (PreCoated Metal) is mainly made of organic resin which is an insulator, the problem that when surface of coating film is rubbed with other material (for example, die, belt conveyor), static electricity is generated and dust sticks to the surface of PCM can occur. It became clear that by making resin and additives of the topcoat film adequate, the surface electrostatic voltage generated by friction with other materials can be restrained, and the dust sticking can be prevented. Based on this idea, the antistatic precoated steel sheet which can restrain dust sticking by static electricity is developed. This PCM shows a big effect with the case which dust sticks at the same time as static electricity is generated. By the choice of primer and pretreatment, a chromate free type PCM is also available. It is hoped that this antistatic PCM is widely applied to various field in future.
