Abstract:The travel of the stacker-reclaimers often leads failures of wire-based transmission of signals. Considering this demerit of the wire-based transmission system, a wireless transmission technique for interlocking and voice signals between stacker-reclaimer group and controller is investigated. A wireless point-to-multiple points transmission system is designed using IEEE 802.11b for interlocking and voice signals of stacker -reclaimers. The successful application in a group made up with 9 stacker- reclaimers illustrated the effectiveness of the technique.
