Effect of H2 content on reduction behavior of burden with high pellet ratio

Abstract:In order to study the effect of H2 content on reduction behavior of blast furnace burden with high pellet ratio, reduction test and pulverization test under different H2 content were carried out for high pellet ratio charge and traditional high sinter ratio charge of Shougang Jingtang Company. The results show that the weight loss, reduction degree, reduction rate and metallization rate of high pellet ratio burden increase with the increase of H2 volume fraction from 0% to 10% compared with traditional high sinter ratio burden, and the bonding phenomenon between pellets is weakened. At the same time, under the condition of 900 ℃ reduction, the addition of H2 to the reducing gas will weaken the pulverization phenomenon of high pellet ratio burden. Compared with traditional high sinter ratio burden, adding H2 into the reducing gas can give more play to the advantages of the high pellet ratio burden. The study can provide reference for hydrogen rich smelting under high pellet ratio burden structure in blast furnaces.
