Abstract:Based on the flow rule of metal, when aluminum alloy ingots are rolled to the thickness of 100-150 mm, "mouth opening" will occur at both ends of the head and tail, which needs to be removed at the heavy shears. At present, heavy shearing operators rely on visual results to determine the length of shearing, so the shearing efficiency is low. When the shear length is not appropriate, it will cause a great waste. A mathematical model is established by using side image signal, metal detector and rotary encoder signal captured by an industrial CCD camera, and then the corresponding rotary encoder readings are calculated when the two ends of the rolled piece are cut off. Finally, the rolled piece is automatically transported to the pre-calculated position for end cutting by controlling the speed of the conical roller table. The automatic control method can not only improve the shearing efficiency, avoid secondary shearing, but also precisely control the shearing length and improve the yield.
