Influence of tungsten content and solid solution temperature on corrosion resistance of 022Cr25Ni7Mo3.5WCuN steel

The effect of the tungsten content and solution temperature on the pitting corrosion resistance of super duplex stainless steel 022Cr25Ni7Mo3.5WCuN was studied. The pitting corrosion resistance of super duplex stainless steel 022Cr25Ni7Mo3.5WCuN was tested by chemical immersion weight loss method and electrochemical anodic polarization curve method and ThermoCalc thermodynamic calculation was used for the assistant analysis. The results showed that the effect of solution temperature on the pitting corrosion resistance of super duplex stainless steel 022Cr25Ni7Mo3.5WCuN was remarkable. The corrosion resistance of 022Cr25Ni7Mo3.5WCuN reached the optimum at 1 100 ℃. Under ideal solid solution conditions, tungsten was conducive to the formation of passivation film, and the increase of tungsten content enhanced the corrosion resistance of 022Cr25Ni7Mo3.5WCuN. When the tungsten mass fraction was 1.5%, 022Cr25Ni7Mo3.5WCuN had the best corrosion resistance. If the content of tungsten continues increasing, the equilibrium between austenite and ferrite will be broken and the corrosion resistance will be reduced.
