Abstract:To ensure the continuous casting of No.2 continuous casting machine with a short casting period, the molten steel was required to be supplied by different converters at the same time in a steelmaking plant, resulting in the indefinite relationship between the converter and the caster, as well as the difficulty of production. The process operation cycle and production operation mode of steelmakingcontinuous casting process in this plant was analyzed to explore the rational relationship between furnace and caster on the basis of continuous casting. Results showed that under "one converter matching one caster" production mode, the maximum continuous casting heats of No.2 continuous casting machine was only 6 heats. While under "certain converter matching certain caster" production mode, if the molten steel was supplied suitably by No.3 converter, the maximum continuous casting heats of No.2 continuous casting machine could be increased to 19 heats. Based on this result, the optimization of the "flexibility" of the continuous caster and the rational distribution of molten steel supply, No.2 continuous casting machine could meet the requirements of the actual production. Moreover, the matching degree of "convertercaster" was used to evaluate the relationship. The calculation results showed that the optimized furnacemachine correspondence was significantly improved.
