Abstract:2 230 mm SMS cold rolling mill was frequently stopped in the production process due to the warped head of the strip. The multiple stops in the production line led to the decline in unit running rate and the obvious increase of the waste coil. Through the site observation and production data analysis, the shear stress of the mill outlet was adjusted, the shear timing was optimized, the cut speed was standardized, the variable thickness rolling function was increased, and the magnet was installed on the belt wrapper by the mechanical personnel. Through a series of measures, the problem of the warped head of the thick strip was solved successfully, and the stability of shear belt was realized, and the unit downtime, as well as the quantity of waste product, was significantly decreased.
