Development of stainless steel magnetic conductive material used for magnetic matrices

Abstract:In order to improve the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of the magnetic media of the high- intensity separators, and increase its magnetic properties, a series of experiments were carried out including the preparation of the stainless magnetic conductive material used for the magnetic media, the microstructure observation, the mechanical property test, and the corrosion resistance and magnetic property test. Experimental results showed that by smelting the molten steel in the vacuum melting furnace, hot rolling and full annealing, the stainless magnetic conductive medium material can be obtained, whose yield strength was 287 MPa, microhardness was 148HV and corrosion rate was 10-8 A/cm2. Meanwhile, the magnetization field strength was 14 000 Gs and the magnetic remanence intensity was 1 056 Gs under the background field strength of 35 A.
