Abstract:In consideration of the resource characteristics and utilization situation of COG in China, it is feasible to produce high quality DRI by COG gas- based shaft furnace process in some regions. At present, the process will be towards industrialization, thus requiring further study by scientific research workers. Coke oven gas was applied to MIDREX shaft furnace process, the gas consumption and utilization ratio of COG in MIDREX shaft furnace were discussed through theoretical calculation, in order to provide technological parameter for the implementation of this process. The results showed that the ratio of H2 and CO in reducing gas after COG- reforming was 2.18, and COG consumption per ton of DRI using COG gas- based shaft furnace process was 599.70 m3. The utilization ratio of H2 and CO in shaft furnace was 32.14% and 36.14%, respectively. And the overall utilization ratio of reducing gas was 33.61% when reducing gas consumption was 1 800 m3 per ton DRI.
