Abstract:The formation cause and composition of the iron oxide scale are reviewed. The effects of the iron oxide scale on the physical and chemical properties, the yield and the fuel consumption of sinter ore are introduced. The iron oxide scale has a certain ability of dephosphorization, which can significantly accelerate the slagging in the early process, and improve the dephosphorization ability in early stage of the blowing. The production practice shows that, the iron oxide scale used in steel mills can create benefits with 72 thousand and 302 yuan for the company, which is higher than that created by the iron oxide scale used in sintering with the same cost. At the same time, one to three hit rate is increased by 11.8%, which is more helpful to carry out the work of protecting furnace. The smelting period is shortened by 0.2 min, which can realize the efficient utilization of the iron oxide scale and create benefits for the company.
