| Research status and prospect of high purity iron preparation |

Abstract As a special material needed for the development of high and new industries, high purity iron has better corrosion resistance, magnetic and electrical properties than traditional pure iron and iron-based materials. It has broad application prospects in many industrial fields, such as aerospace, energy and new semiconductor industries. Several typical preparing technologies of high purity iron are introduced, such as zone melting, electromagnetic levitation melting, electrolytic refining, etc. The research focus on the status for electrolysis preparation of high purity iron in recent years, and the influence of electrolysis process on the quality of pure iron is analyzed in detail. Finally, the development trend of electrolytic preparation of high purity iron is prospected, which provides reference for the development of amorphous materials and iron and steel materials in China.
