Abstract:In order to study the effect of Pulse Magneto Oscillation(PMO) and cooling rate on solidification microstructure and segregation of 5CrNiMoV hot work die steel, a self-made high flux solidification process thermal simulation test machine was used to conduct PMO treatment tests under different cooling rates. The results showed that the average grain size decreased with the increase of cooling rate. PMO treatment could enlarge the equiaxed grain region, and the refining effect became more obvious with the increase of cooling rate. Under the action of PMO, forced convection occurred inside the melt, which could effectively improve element segregation. Under the three cooling rates, the segregation improvement of C element was more significant than that of Cr element and Mn element.
