A porous media model was used to numerical simulated the water vapor migration of coke drying in the storage bin. The law for water vapor migration of coke in storage bin under different air supply methods and positions was studied and the influence of it on the drying effect was investigated. The results showed that the radial air supply method for inlet short tube could expand the area of air supply opening, and the distribution of airflow in the pile was more uniform than that of the axial air supply mode. As the position of air supply opening moved downward, the airflow diffusion range was wider and the airflow velocity distributed more uniform. The material resistance at the air inlet was small and the heat source gas was easy to diffuse to this area, at which the moisture removal efficiency was high and the removal effect was good. The results of this study had been successfully applied to the project of directly coke drying in the coke bin with the waste heat of low-temperature flue gas for No.3 blast furnace hot blast stove and had achieved positive results in Nanjing Steel Company.
