Physical Modeling of Subsonic Top Blowing in Dephosphorization Period of BOF DeP Pretreatment and Direct Steelmaking Process

Abstract:Water modeling experiments were carried to study the mixing behavior in BOF under subsonic topblowing condition in 1∶6 scale model. The results shows that the mixing time under subsonic blowing condition is remarkably longer than that under supersonic condition. Under subsonic blowing condition, low lance position, high top and bottom blowing rate can decrease the mixing time. As for the effect of bottom blowing, layout A2 is the best for mixing in the experiments, and layout A6 is the most suitable for the dephosphorization pretreatment and direct steelmaking process in BOF.
